Make sure to be present at this week's KINO SHERBROOKE reunion, Wednesday December 7th, at the Granada theatre, where we will premiere our latest short film, GAUCHE-DROITE, starring HUGO MAYRAND and JEROME CLOUTIER and directed by REMI FRECHETTE. Also, JIMMY GERVAIS will be presenting a hilarious lineup of short films and publicities.

Also, we are releasing our complete collection of short films of 2005 one week earlier, which means that this 2-disc set containing the 10 short films presented at Whisperfest 2005 as well as many special features will be available to purchase tomorrow. The price is 8$ CAN, or 15$ CAN for both the 2003-2004 DVD and the 2005 DVD.

Here is some miscelleaneous news from WHISPER PICTURES:
-First up, some of you may have noticed that the french blog doesn't get updated, and the main reason for this is lack of interest from us.
-We are currently editing our next KINO SHERBROOKE short film, and the results should be funny. Don't miss it, in two weeks!
-We are also currently writing the screenplay to our next big summer project, PROJECT BLOODBATH, a hybrid of many genres in one thrilling film.
-And also, be sure to check out this link to surf Micah Minor, another independent filmmaker's website, where you can load some of his films as well as read comics.

Bad news first: Due to complications, both technical and time-related, the principal photography of STRANGERS AMONG US is reported to summer 2006. As for the good news, and there is plenty, the shooting of BAZOOKA MAMA is going full-throttle, with a release date of March 2006. Also, the Philemon Mene L'enquete series 1 DVD is coming out in the holidays, as well as other of our films. And finally,a Whisper Pictures participant has a small article on her forum, check it out here. More info coming soon!

For the next two weeks, the blog won't be updated for technical reasons, but a new update should be online around the 16th August. "STRANGERS AMONG US" should start principal photography on the same day, if all goes according to plan. Meanwhile, the shooting of "BAZOOKA MAMA" is going very well and should complete around mid-September. See you in two weeks.

Here are some updates from Whisper Pictures. "MOVIE MANIACS THE MOVIE" is completed, as well as "...ET A TOUS UNE BONNE NUIT". Expect an eventual internet release for them over the year. Also, principal photography on "STRANGERS AMONG US" has been put on hold for the next couple of weeks due to technical problems. The April 2006 release date is untouched, for the moment. Whisper Pictures premiered 3 shorts films tonight at the Piccoli Films festival at the Éxode café in the Cégep du Vieux Montreal. The films, "Western Sofa", "C'est Silence dans la Bibliothèque" and "Mozzarella", all directed by RÉMI FRÉCHETTE and all starring HUGO MAYRAND and JÉROME CLOUTIER, met with favourable success.

STRANGERS AMONG US, Whisper Pictures' upcoming zombie picture will start principal photography on July 1st. The scheduled shoot is a solid 2-3 weeks, followed by the shooting of BAZOOKA MAMA, a dark comedy about a woman who plots to get her house back with a bazooka. For all of you out there awaiting impatiently for the Philemon Mene L'enquete: Serie 1 2-disc DVD set, (all 4 of you...), we are hard at work to complete it before mid-may. Last week, we shot the documentary "Ca fait tu mal?", a retrospective by cast and crew on season one for the set, along with a few other little things for the dvd. In other news, the Strangers Among Us and Bazooka Mama are almost ready (heard that one before, have you?) and should hopefully be complete by the end of April. We will send you the main info as soon as possible. We need as many as we can get, but please, serious entries only. Don't just ask for the info to hang around for the free food. Finally, the Philemon Mene L'enquete: Serie 1 2-disc DVD has been reported to an unconfirmed date for lack of editing time. To avoid another scare like the one we had with the Within the Woods remake DVD, we're thinking of changing the title "SEASON of the DEAD" to something else seeing as there is already a comic book of the same name on Undeadfilms.com. Send in your suggestion for a new title to Jet101_x@hotmail.com and win an autographed sketch from the film. It is not 100% sure if we will change the title as we may decide to keep the current one if all goes well.

A letter from Sam Raimi's attorneys has been sent to Whisper Pictures stating that we are commiting an illegal action by selling our DVD. As of now, no more Within the Woods DVDs will be sold. E-mails for it's purchase will be ignored. For those of you who ordered it, we will send it to you with a refund (minus S&H). We are very sorry for the inconvenient and we also apologize to Mr.Raimi for selling a product using his copyrighted material. For those of you who would like to see the film, it will be posted on the web before May.
By the way, this does not apply on the "Philemon mene l'enquete: Serie 1" 2-disc DVD coming out March 8th, which features original Whisper Pictures material. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience.

The "Philémon Mêne L'enquête: Série 1" 2-disc DVD has been delayed for another week much to our chagrin. That means that the release date has been moved to March 8th. We apologize for this and will do our best not to necessitate another delay.
Also, we are shooting right now MOVIE MANIACS: THE MOVIE in our spare time. It is a follow up to FREDDY VS. JASON II: REMATCH FROM HELL which we did about a year ago. MOVIE MANIACS is the story of a news reporter trying to advance her career by investigating in an abandonned school. She unwittingly becomes the pray of not one, but five of the most notorious silver-screen serial killers; Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Ghostface and Freddy Krueger. Will she survive?
We will post this film as soon as it is ready. Speaking of posting, we will have at least a few trailers of our films ready to view hopefully before the weekend. That's all for now. Check regularily for updates.

Here is some SEASON of the DEAD news straight from Whisper Pictures:
"The script is now 3/8th complete and the preproduction is going smoothly. All the WITHIN THE WOODS cast will return in some role or another. NINA CLARK has already been selected to play Jessica Greene, and JEROME CLOUTIER co-stars as her brother, the smart Dr. Thomas Greene. LAURA ELLYSON will have a small part as Thomas's wife, Annie and DANNO OSBOURNE will have a short cameo in the film as well. WITHIN THE WOODS director REMI FRECHETTE has been cast as the main villain, Sgt. Luke Spencer, leader of a rag-tag battalion of ex-military out to pillage the remains of the homes of the people who once lived there, only a week before. It's going to be great fun!"
Also, the screenplay for BAZOOKA MAMA is going along great, with lots of action sequences already blazing the screen in the first 15 minutes. It's going to be wild!

Here is the sypnosis of the upcoming zombie movie APOCALYPSE, straight from director/writer Eric Piccoli:
"A group of friends go to a friend's cabin for a little forest vacation. Little do they know that a virus that can reanimate the dead is being propagated around the world. One of them becomes infected as they notice strange things around them. They will face the destruction of the world, difficult choices and the transformation of the population into undead horrors. They will have to stand their ground against extreme situations and learn to defend themselves in order to survive. The apocalypse is here and it will submerge the whole world in chaos."
Also, the "Philemon mene l'enquete serie 1" 2-Disc set has been delayed for a week, to March1st exactly. Don't worry, this will not become a common trend with all Whisper Pictures DVDs. We apologize for the delay.

2005: Year of the zombie movie.

Isn't it weird? Just like in 1985, (Day of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead and Re-Animator), 2005 is shaping up to be the year for zombie movies of this decade. George Romero's LAND of the DEAD is coming out in October, and Whisper Pictures is handling not one but two zombie movies. The dark SEASON of the DEAD and another title, APOCALYPSE, a french zombie film, which is being negociated to be produced by Whisper Pictures. The plot is unknown as of now, but director ERIC PICCOLI will keep us updated. It is not a certainty that we will produce it, but we hope the negociations work. Check out his amazing website:

Also, casting news for Season of the Dead!
Nina Clark (WITHIN THE WOODS) is announced to play Jessica Greene in the upcoming zombie movie. The dead will have something nice to chew!
Next update, we will post the cast of Bazooka Mama as it is right now. The list may change over the course of preproduction, so don't take it as 100% bona fide.

Double Feature update.

The films selected for the double feature presentation in fall 2005 are:
-BAZOOKA MAMA: Le Film: A comedy about an old lady, Mama, who loses her house to her cheating friend Yvonne in a game of bridge and who equips a bazooka to save the city from that ex-friend and her accomplice, the robot-suit wearing mad genius Dr.Jay. It's going to be as crazy as it sounds!
-SEASON of the DEAD: Tom and his sister Jessie are faced with an enemy that does not sleep, breathe, or feel. An enemy that 's already dead. Will they survive the onslaught of the living dead army of will they become what they fear?

The "Philemon mene l'enquete serie 1" 2-disc DVD set is coming out Feb. 22. It will include all 4 of the first season episodes along with commentary tracks for each episode, "Ca fait tu mal?" documentary on the evolution of Philemon, a stills gallery and trailers for this set and other films by Whisper Pictures. Double feature presentation

This summer, we will premiere two of our next films as a double feature. The films are indertermined as of now, and so is the place they will be presented, but keep checking the site for updates. Also, we are planning a new website(not a blog this time...) for sometime in 2005. It will have trailers and info on our films.

Here is some information concerning summer 2005's SEASON of the DEAD. Shooting will be held in the summer. It will be directed by RÉMI FRÉCHETTE (Within the Woods 2004).
If you want to be a zombie in the film, E-mail to Jet101_x@hotmail.com. The headline should be: I want to be a zombie. You must be in measure to be on set at the required times, work for peanuts and be able suffer special make-up applied to your face and physical abuse. We need as many as we can get!

What do horror movie characters do on their vacation?

This is a 75mins fan-film composed of skits featuring favourites of the horror genre, including Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason and Pinhead, as well as some lesser known boogeymen like the Toxic Avenger, the Phantom of the Paradise and the Tall Man, to name a few.

Matt World épisode 1: la menace fantôme du grenier.

A comedic sitcom about a teenager who moves into the weirdest town in the world, Makimonoburg, where weird thing happen as often as a politician lies. In this first episode, Matt must solve the mystery of the ghost in his attic before, well, before nothing, really...

Season of the Dead

Thomas Greene and his pregnant sister Jessica drive to their family doctor, who moved in the country. They are an hour and a half away from any city and there doesn't seem to be a gas station anywhere near. Suddenly, they hit someone. They get out of the car to check it out. The guy they hit is dead, but he gets up anyways. Tommy and Jessie may have a bit of a living dead problem on their hands.

Well, that's the list so far. As mentioned above, any and all of these projects can be aborted at anytime. The list is sure to include other eventually. Stay tuned for more updates.
